Job Description: 
Russell Health Centre is a 32 bed acute care and 40 bed long term care facility. Services offered include Diagnostic, Emergency, Public Health, Mental Health, Home Care, Dialysis, and the Satellite Community Cancer Program.
Prairie Mountain Health is seeking a Family Physician locum to support the Russell Health Centre. Duties to include: performing all duties associated with a family practice, including diagnosing and treating diseases, physiological disorders and injuries of patients, act as the primary care provider and provide continuous care toward the management of patients’ health. The physician will also share in the Emergency Department on call schedule and will cooperate and coordinate coverage with other physician colleagues.

Work Environment Details: 
physicians provide primary care in the medical clinic and share in the ER rota with other physicians in the community. The ER in Russell is a mix of in house staffed ER and offsite call. Russell Health Centre is the nearest facility to Assissipi ski area and resort, so the ER will see lumps and bumps as well as ski and snowboard related injuries/trauma.
Assissipi is only 20 minutes from Russell, so if you are a ski or outdoor enthusiast, the park has plenty of recreation activities for you as well as the whole family, from skiing to tubing in the winter, or river tubing and fishing in the summer.
